A Magical Day

What a magical day! I woke up early this morning to watch history in the making. The royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.  The day was filled with love and tradition. The ceremony was rich with royal history. Prince William looked just like prince charming did in all those Disney movies we as little girls loved to watch. Kate was breathtaking. The whole ordeal was a magical experience I hope every romance writer out there watched. This is what dreams are made of. This was truly an inspirational experience. Fairy tales do exist.

Once in a lifetime The Royal Wedding

I know that every romance reader, writer or enthusiast will be watching the Royal Wedding tomorrow. This is history in the making. What could be more romantic then watching a prince marrying his princess. This is what every little girl dreams of. This is the bases of every romance novel out there, the fairy tale. Watching the wedding could also be good research for those of you who are more into writing historical romance. What ever your reasoning, you should witness the true meaning of romance.

Dreams are stories

I highly believe my creativity comes from my dreams. Last night I had a dream about a sexy vampire. Now I know I watch a lot of movies dealing with hot vampires and that may be the reason I had this dream, but I feel it's my duty to write it. So I am going to try my hand at a paranormal romance.  The market is hot so why not try something new, it's hot in my mind so let's get it down on paper.

Let your dreams be your writing guide. Keep a journal by your bedside. You never know what inspiration might pop up in your dreams.

Perfect time to be a writer

After a long hot and steamy night (A/C not working ;) ). I rolled over and tried to focus my tired eyes at the clock radio blinking on my night stand; 5:30am. I impatiently slammed my hand on the snooze button. How can something so small make such an annoying sound I thought to myself. I layed there in my bed dreading the thought of having to start my day. I reached over to the nightstand seaching for the TV remote. I rolled over to my side and turned on the TV. I flipped to the news hoping to catch a glimps of the weather for the day. As I sat up I listened to the first news story for the day. I rolled my eyes as the news ancher told me that gas prices rose another 10cents over night.  I sighed at the thought of paying $4.00 a gallon. The next story the anchor man read was about how food prices were going up.  By this point I felt totally disgusted. How are we suppose to survice if the cost of living goes up but pay does not. I tried to tune out the news as I got ready for my day. As I slipped on my shoes I turned up to see the news again. There was no ignoring the next news story. The government shutting down because they couldn't come to an agreement on a budget. As I reached for the remote to turn off the news I sat and thought to myself. With so much drama and negativity in the world I'm lucky to be a writer. A writer can change the lives of many by our timeless stories. We as writers can help everyday people escape the world that traps them. We have a gift as writers, I am glade that I get to share mine with you. Hopefully I can do for others what many writers have done for me; create and escape.

Amazing Saturday @ Dreaming In Dallas

Dreaming in Dallas was truly that a dream. A dream that I didn't want to end. The conference mentally simulated me like I have never been before. It was electrifying To be in the presence of some much talent I was awestruck.  The highlight for me of course was meeting 4 amazing women. New York Times Bestseller Allison Brennan, New York Times & USA Today Bestselling author Richelle Mead, Lucienne Diver author of Vamped and Allison Lyons editor for Harlequin Intrigue.

With shaking hands and a few stumbled words I got to deliver my pitch to Allison Lyons with Harlequin. She was very sweet and understanding about my nerves which I REALLY appreciated. With 90k Love and Honor was too long for the Intrigue line, She said that my book is more for the Harlequin Mira line. She gave me contact info for Leonore Waldrip, and asked me to send her 3 chapters and my synopsis. She said she would let Leonore know I'm contacting her and to take a look at my work. I am really siked about this.Mira has published....get this...SANDRA BROWN AND HEATHER GRAHAM!!!  I will be submitting Love and Honor this week to Leonore. Please keep up the good vibes everyong has been sending my way. I appricate everyone who has read and critiqued my work. You are my fans as I am yours.

I had such a wonderful AMAZING time at the book signing. I met some great writers, fans, and readers. I felt so star stuck at first! But as I started to talk to people I figured out that they were just like me.  I feel that I've let people see me tonight. I talked to strangers, carried conversations with authors. Totally AMAZING. I know tomorrow will be even better! I am no longer nervous about my 11am meeting! I'm going to sparkle and shine!!
